Weddings

Congrats on getting hitched! Understandably one of the most important events in your life requires utmost attention paid to it, especially music and audio-wise. This is where I help couples like yourself ensure your special day becomes truly memorable.

Important to note: A wedding DJ's job is completely different to a club DJ's. A wedding DJ isn't 'spinning' or mixing for a dancefloor the entire time, except for during afterparty. What a wedding DJ do is to provide carefully curated pieces of music to hype up specific segments, for example during games, speeches, march-ins, bouquet throws, etc, to significantly lift the overall ambience and mood of the wedding and make it feel professional, while making the crowd much more engaged. The difference between having a wedding DJ and just a Spotify playlist playing in the background can be huge.

What I Do

Before the wedding:

  • Ensure the equipment that you need will be in place at the venue by either liaising directly with the venue manager or going down physically to check the place out

  • Confirm and give advice on the wedding programme

  • Finalise the genres and tracks to be played at all segments of the wedding including afterparty, if relevant, to create the right mood for the event

  • Shortlist and prepare all music for the event

On wedding day:

  • Arrival 2 hours before event to set up all equipment, do sound check and run through programme/do rehearsal if required

  • Meet with emcee  and wedding coordinator to confirm timings of tracks & rundown

  • Make sure background music is in the preferred style and genre

  • Work with emcee to ensure while he's speaking there's no music playing and while he's not there always is

  • Play specific curated hyped up tracks to get crowd more engaged and liven up the atmosphere during speeches, games, bouquet throw etc

  • Play march-in tracks according to specified timings

  • Play requests from wedding attendees as and when they happen

  • Execute the dancefloor/afterparty with the best tracks for the demographics of crowd and keep them dancing
